Registered Nurse- Nursing Informatics

The Staff RN Nursing Informatics serves as coordinator for BCMA, Veterans Affairs Nursing Outcomes Database (VANOD), and Nursing service Share Point / web page. Incumbent must have in-depth knowledge of software interdependencies between VistA, CPRS, BCMA and other nursing applications. The informatics nurse will be the primary resource for teaching, monitoring, consulting and troubleshooting nursing applications. He/she will be the primary resource for implementation of documentation templates and analysis of data to improve patient care outcomes. Incumbent will work with all levels of nursing staff across all clinical services and locations including non-nursing staff in Pharmacy, IRM, and other services to accomplish the functions of this role. Participation in VISN and national communications is required. The work is accomplished through the use of information structures, processes, and technology. The RNs activities include the design and use of informatics solutions and technology. Maintaining a current BLS certification is required. Preferred Criteria:
Master Degree preferred with 2 years of Nursing Informatics or Healthcare Informatics experience. Computer literacy including knowledge and experience with CPRS, VISTA, word processing, spreadsheets and presentation programs used at the VAHCS facility. Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software and networking used by staff, with sufficient skills to instruct on and/or resolve issues related to use of computers, printers, presentation and networking equipment is mandatory. National certification in Nursing Informatics preferred. Knowledge of VA utilization management computer based review system preferred. Ability to work effectively as a team member and leader. Effective interpersonal organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills. Work Schedule:

The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement of graduation from an approved school of professional nursing. OR The completion of coursework equivalent to a nursing degree in a MSN Bridge Program that qualifies for professional nursing registration constitutes the completion of an approved course of study of professional nursing. Students should submit the certificate of professional nursing to sit for the NCLEX to the VA along with a copy of the MSN transcript. (Reference VA Handbook 5005, Appendix G6) OR In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of a current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement for graduation from an approved school of professional nursing. Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia. Grade Determinations:
The following criteria must be met in determining the grade assignment of candidates, and if appropriate, the level within a grade:
Nurse I Level I - An Associate Degree (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing, with no additional nursing practice/experience required. Nurse I Level II - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 1 year of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a bachelor's degree in a related field with no additional nursing practice/experience; OR a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) with no additional nursing practice/experience. Nurse I Level III - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a BSN with approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a Master's degree in nursing (MSN) or related field with a BSN and no additional nursing practice/experience. Nurse II - A BSN with approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Master's degree in nursing or related field with a BSN and approximately 1-2 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Doctoral degree in nursing or meets basic requirements for appointment and has doctoral degree in a related field with no additional nursing practice/experience required. Nurse III - Master's degree in nursing or related field with BSN and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Doctoral degree and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience. This position requires standing and walking for extended periods of time as well as hearing and vision corrected to the near normal range.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
